How to get to Media Hall from the hotels

(1) JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul

 

1. Bus
When you come out of the main entrance, you will see Cheonggyecheon Stream. If you cross the road, you will find the nearest bus station, which is about 2 minutes by walk (142m walk). You can take bus number 173 and depart at Wooshinhyang hospital station. The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes. From the Wooshinhyang hospital station, it will take about 5 minute walk to Korea University. As you get off the bus, walk straight to the intersection in front and walk across the intersection. Once you cross the interaction, you will see an uphill on your left. If you walk straight the uphill, you will find Media Hall. This will cost you 1500 KRW($1.1).

 

2. Subway

You have to make a transfer if you were to use subway. First get into Dongdaemun Station (Line 1, 4) near the hotel. Line 1 and 4 are connected so you can use any entrance of your convenience. You have to use line 1 to get to Korea University. From Dongdaemun station, you will travel to Dongmyo Station, which is only 1 station away. Make sure to check the direction of the subway. Depart at Dongmyo Station and transfer to line 6. You will travel to Anam Station, which is 3 stations away. Once you arrive at Anam Station, get out of the station through exit 2. If you walk straight from exit 2, you will soon encounter Media Hall. This will cost you 1400KRW($1).

 

3. Taxi

You can use different applications like ‘Uber’ or ‘Kakao Taxi’ or ask staff members of your accommodation to easily call a taxi. Ask the taxi driver to go to Anam Station Exit 2 (안암역 2번 출구) or show them this Korea phrase. If you walk towards the opposite direction of exit 2, you will soon encounter Media Hall. This will cost you around 8000~9000KRW($6~7). Please keep in mind that taking the taxi in between 10PM ~ 4AM will result in extra charge.

 

(2) LOTTE HOTEL Seoul

 

If you are staying at Lotte Hotel Seoul, we highly recommend you to take the subway or taxi to get to Korea University. Although there are various ways to travel by bus, this will take you longer or require transfer. Transferring bus can be more complicated compared to subways.

 

1. Bus

When you leave the main entrance, you will see an intersection. On the opposite direction of the hotel, you will see Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station exit 3. Once you arrive at exit 3, walk straight until you see Woori Bank. There is a bus station right in front of Woori Bank. This will be about 7 minute walk(450m). Once at the bus station, get on bus 173 and depart at Wooshinhyang hospital station. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. From the Wooshinhyang hospital station, it will take about 5 minute walk to Korea University. As you get off the bus, walk straight to the intersection in front and walk across the intersection. Once you cross the interaction, you will see an uphill on your left. If you walk straight the uphill, you will find Media Hall. This will cost you 1500 KRW($1.1). You can also take bus number 103 or 201 but this will require you to make a transfer. Therefore we recommend you to take bus 173.

From Euljiro 1(il)-ga station, you will travel to Sindang Station, which is 4 stations away. Make sure to check the direction of the subway. Depart at Sindang Station and transfer to line 6. You will travel to Anam Station, which is 4 stations away. Once you arrive at Anam Station, get out of the station through exit 2. If you walk straight from exit 2, you will soon encounter Media Hall. This will cost you 1400KRW($1).

(3) Four Points by Sheraton Josun, Seoul Myeongdong

 

If you are staying at Four Points, we highly recommend you to take the subway or taxi to get to Korea University. Although there are various ways to travel by bus, this will take you longer or require transfer. Transferring bus can be more complicated compared to subways.

 

1. Bus

When you leave the main entrance, you will see a crosswalk. On the opposite direction of the hotel, you will see Euljiro 3(sam)-ga Station exit 1. Once you arrive at exit 1, walk straight until you see Cheonggyecheon Stream. When you face Cheonggyecheon Stream, turn left until you see the front gate of the Signature Tower. There is a bus station right in front of the Signature Tower. This will be about 6 minute walk(370m). Once at the bus station, get on bus 173 and depart at Wooshinhyang hospital station. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. From the Wooshinhyang hospital station, it will take about 5 minute walk to Korea University. As you get off the bus, walk straight to the intersection in front and walk across the intersection. Once you cross the interaction, you will see an uphill on your left. If you walk straight the uphill, you will find Media Hall. This will cost you 1500 KRW($1.1). You can also take bus number 152 or 261 but this will require you to make a transfer. Therefore we recommend you to take bus 173.
